Titanium® UDL30 is a highly engineered, mechanically attached, coated woven synthetic roofing underlayment for sloped roofs. UDL30 represents the future in felt replacement technology, and used in conjunction with Titanium PSU30 self adhered underlayment, offers the sloped roofing industry a truly revolutionary system of safety, security and simplicity... UDL30’s advanced polymers combine to deliver a unique gray synthetic roofing underlayment that can be used under all types of primary roofing materials to replace 30 lb felt. Installation Instructions

Titanium® UDL30 is an air, water and vapor barrier. It must be installed above properly ventilated spaces (follow ALL building codes applicable to your geographical regions and structure type) as it is considered a vapor barrier (.06 perms). The use of a rosin paper slip-sheet is not required underneath metal roofing systems. Protrusions from the deck area must be removed and decks shall have no voids, damaged or unsupported areas. The use of straight edge cutting knives is recommended. UDL30 is laid out horizontally (parallel) to the eave with the printed side up, and using 4" horizontal laps and 6" vertical laps. Follow building codes for low slopes as defined as 2:12 to 4:12 and steep slopes greater than 4:12 applications.

FASTENERS: If leaving UDL30 exposed longer than 5 days product must be attached to the structural roof deck material using a minimum 1"diameter plastic or metal caps with either ring shank nails (preferred) or smooth leg nails (acceptable). Miami-Dade approved tin tags/metal caps acceptable with the rough edge facing up. If product is going to be covered with asphalt shingles or metal roofing panels within 5 days UDL30 can be installed with the use of corrosive resistant 3/8" head x 1" minimum length leg roofing nail (ring shank nail leg is recommended).

DO NOT USE STAPLES: use of staples to penetrate UDL30 will void warranty. Anchoring to be installed at a minimum as per surface markings printed on the product, spaced 6" on center in the vertical and horizontal laps, and at 12" along the center of the roll in the field. If underlayment will be covered by primary roofing within 5 days of application, and not subject to heavy traffic or high wind, then the option to use every other printed anchoring point in the center field is acceptable.

All anchoring devices must be flush, 90 degrees to the roof deck, tight with the underlayment surface and the structural roof deck. For extended exposure (months) and or high wind, double the lap widths as a minimum. Alternatively: Use a compatible sealant between the laps; use a peel and stick tape between the laps; or fold the overlay laps forming a "J" channel configuration before nailing.

For batten secured installations, use only adequate length ring shank nails or screws (preferred), smooth leg nails (acceptable) to secure battens to the structural roof deck material. The use of cap nails is only required to secure UDL30 and prevent blow-off until the batten system is installed. Do not install battens directly over any cap nails. If this occurs, remove cap nail, patch the hole, then install cap outside batten field and continue.

Where seams and joints require sealant or adhesive, use a high quality, low solvent asbestos free, plastic roofing cement meeting ASTM D-4586 Type 1 (Asbestos Free) Federal Spec SS-153 Type 1 (Asbestos Free) such as Karnak, Henry, DAP, MB, Geocel or equivalent. Acceptable alternatives are butyl rubber, urethane, and EDPM based caulk or tape sealant. Depending on roof pitch and surface conditions, blocking may be required to support materials on the roof.

UDL30 is not designed for indefinite outdoor exposure. Final roofing should be installed within 6 months.

CAUTION - READ GOOD SAFETY PRACTICES BELOW
As with any roofing product, always follow safe roofing codes & practices (OSHA) and always use and wear fall protection devices when working on roofs. Use caution when walking or standing on Titanium UDL30 as slip resistance may vary with surface conditions, weather, footwear and roof pitch. Failure to use proper safety gear and footwear can result in serious injury.

Instrucciones de instalación

Titanium UDL30 es una barrera contra aire, agua y vapor. Debe ser instalado sobre espacios ventilados apropiadamente (siga TODOS los códigos de construcción correspondientes a su zona geográfica y al tipo de estructura en construcción) ya que es considerado una barrera contra el vapor (0.06 permeable). El uso de una capa de papel colofonia rojo no es requerido debajo de los sistemas de techado de metal. Las protuberancias en la cubierta del techo necesitan ser removidas. Titanium UDL30 bebe ser colocado horizontalmente (paralelo) al alero con el lado del logotipo hacia arriba y con una solapa horizontal de 4 pulgadas (101mm) y otra vertical de 6 pulgadas (152mm). Siga los códigos de instalación que han sido clasificados para pendientes bajas entre 2:12 y 4:12, y para pendientes muy inclinadas mayores a 4:12.
Sujetadores: Si Titanium UDL30 se dejara expuesto por más de 5 días, el producto debe ser sujetado al material de la estructura de la cubierta del techo usando clavos de cuerpo anillado (preferentemente) o clavos de albañilería (aceptable) mismos que deberán tener una cabeza de plástico o de metal con un diámetro mínimo de 1" (25mm). El Condado de Miami-Dade ha aprobado como aceptable el uso de clavos para techos de cabeza delgada de estaño o de metal, con el borde áspero hacia arriba. Si el producto es cubierto en un plazo máximo de 5 días con tejas de asfalto o paneles de metal para techos, Titanium UDL30 puede ser instalado usando clavos para techados con una cabeza de 3/8" y con una longitud de 1" como mínimo, los cuales sean resistentes a la corrosión (los clavos de cuerpo anillado son recomendables).

NO UTILICE GRAPAS: el uso de ellas en UDL30 cancelará la garantía del producto. Anclaje tiene que ser instalado en una como mínimo en las superficies impresas en el producto, espaciados 6 pulgadas (15 cm) entre centros en los tramos verticales y horizontales, y en 12 pulgadas (30 cm) a lo largo del centro del rollo en el campo. Si el contrapiso será cubierto por techos primaria dentro de los 5 días de la aplicación, y no están sujetas a un tráfico intenso o fuerte viento, a continuación, la opción de utilizar cada otro punto de anclaje impreso en el campo central es aceptable.
Todos los dispositivos de anclaje tienen que estar al mismo nivel, a 90 grados de la cubierta del techo, ajustados al recubrimiento sintético y a la estructura de la cubierta del techo. En los meses de exposición prolongada y/o fuertes vientos, duplique como mínimo la anchura de la solapa. Para instalaciones aseguradas con tablones de madera, utilice únicamente clavos de cuerpo anillado o tornillos (preferentemente) que tengan una longitud adecuada; los clavos de albañilería son aceptables para asegurarlos a la estructura del material de la cubierta del techo. El uso de clavos para techos es requerido únicamente para asegurar Titanium UDL30 y combatir las ráfagas de viento hasta que el sistema de aseguramiento sea instalado. No coloque los tablones directamente sobre ningún clavo para techos. Si esto sucede remueva el clavo y coloque un parche en el orificio, reinstale otro clavo fuera de la estructura de aseguramiento y continúe.

En las uniones que requieran sellador o adherente, utilice un cemento plástico para techos de alta calidad, de baja solubilidad, libre de asbestos; que cumpla con los requisitos ASTM D-4586 Tipo I (libre de asbestos) y especificaciones Federales SS-153 Tipo I (libre de asbestos) tales como Karnak, Henry, DAP, MB, Geocel o sus equivalentes. Como una alternativa aceptable usted puede emplear el caucho butílico, el uretano, la masilla selladora con una base de EDPM y una cinta selladora. Dependiendo de la inclinación de la cubierta y de las condiciones de la superficie del techo, puede ser necesaria la obstrucción para sostener los materiales colocados en el techo. 

Titanium UDL30 no está diseñado para ser expuesto al aire libre indefinidamente. El techo tiene que ser instalado en un plazo máximo de 6 meses.

ADVERTENCIA: LEA BIEN LAS SIGUIENTES PRÁCTICAS DE SEGURIDAD
Al igual que como con cualquier producto para tejados, siempre deberá seguir los códigos y prácticas de seguridad (OSHA). Siempre utilice y vista los dispositivos para la protección de caídas cuando se esté trabajando en el techo. Tenga precaución al caminar o al estar de pie sobre Titanium UDL30 ya que la tracción puede ser reducida en condiciones de humedad y/o cuando haya exceso de polvo. La falta del calzado y del equipo de seguridad adecuado, pueden provocar lesiones graves.

Consignes d'installation

Pare-air / eau / vapeur. Le Titanium UDL30 doit être installé au-dessus d'espaces adéquatement ventilés (respecter toutes les directives des codes du bâtiment applicables au lieu et au type de structure) vu qu'il entre dans la catégorie des écrans antivapeur (0,06 perms). Il n'est pas nécessaire de prévoir une couche de séparation en papier à résine sous les couvertures métalliques. Il est recommandé d'utiliser des couteaux à tailler à lame droite. Le Titanium UDL30 est posé horizontalement, c'est-à-dire parallèlement à l'avant-toit, côté imprimé vers le haut, avec recouvrements horizontaux de 4 pouces (10 cm) et recouvrements verticaux de 12 pouces (30 cm). Il convient de respecter les directives des codes pour ce qui est de la pose sur les toitures-terrasses plates définies comme allant de 2:12 à 4:12 et sur les toitures à pente raide définies comme étant supérieures à 4:12. Le Titanium UDL30 doit être fixé aux panneaux de structure du toit au moyen de clous munis d'une bague de plastique d'un diamètre d'au moins 1 pouce (25 mm).

Attaches : si vous laissez Titanium UDL30 exposé plus longtemps que cinq jours, le produit doit être fixé au matériau de sous-toiture de la structure à l'aide d'un capuchon en plastique ou en métal d'un diamètre minimal d'un pouce (25 mm) avec des clous à tige filetée (privilégié) ou des clous à pied lisse (acceptable). Les cosses en étain/capuchons en métal approuvés par Miami Dade sont acceptables, le bord rugueux face vers le haut. Si le produit est recouvert de bardeaux d'asphalte ou de panneaux de toiture en métal, on peut installer Titanium UDL30 dans un délai de cinq jours, à l'aide de clous à toiture d'une longueur minimale d'un pouce (tête de 3/8 po) résistants à la corrosion (on recommande les clous à tige filetée).

NE PAS UTILISER D'AGRAFES : l'utilisation d'agrafes qui transpercent le UDL30 annulera la garantie. Les éléments d’ancrage doivent être installés au minimum selon les marques de la surface et espacés de 6 pouces (15 cm) au centre des recouvrements verticaux et horizontaux et de 12 pouces (30 cm) au centre du rouleau dans l’espace marqué. Si l'application d'UDL et le matériel final de toiture ont lieu dans 5 jours, et non-assujetti à une circulation dense ou à des rafales de vent, l'option pour employer chaque autre imprimée ancrant le placement est acceptable.
Les éléments d'ancrage doivent être à niveau, enfoncés à 90 degrés dans les panneaux de toit, étanche avec la surface sous-couche et le support de couverture structurelle. Pour une exposition de longue durée (plusieurs mois) et/ou en cas de vent suffisamment fort pour faire soulever le produit, doubler au minimum les largeurs de recouvrement. Facultativement, il est possible de plier les surfaces de recouvrement pour obtenir un canal en « J » avant de clouer. L'utilisation d'un matériel d'étanchéité compatible avec le produit ou de ruban adhésif entre les parties se chevauchant est fortement recommandé.

Pour les installations à liteaux, n'utiliser que des clous ou des vis de longueur adéquate pour fixer les baguettes de bois aux panneaux de toit. Les clous ne sont nécessaires que pour éviter que le Titanium UDL30 ne s'envole et pour le maintenir en position jusqu'à l'installation du système de liteaux. Ne pas installer les baguettes de bois directement sur les clous. Si tel était le cas, retirer les clous, boucher les trous et remettre les clous hors de la zone de pose des baguettes. S'il est nécessaire d'utiliser un produit d'étanchéité ou un adhésif sur les joints et les raccords, utiliser une colle plastique pour toitures de très bonne qualité, à faible émission de solvants, exempte d'amiante et conforme aux normes ASTM D 4586 Type 1 (sans amiante) et Federal Spec SS 153 Type 1 (sans amiante) telles que Karnak, Henry, DAP, MB, Geocel ou équivalentes. On peut également utiliser un produit de calfeutrage à base de caoutchouc butyle, d'uréthane ou d'EPDM ou encore une bande d'étanchéité adhésive. En fonction de la pente du toit et de l'état de la surface, des cales peuvent être nécessaires pour étayer les matériaux de toiture.

Titanium UDL30 n'est pas fabriqué pour une exposition d'une durée indéfinie à l'extérieur. La toiture finale devrait être installée avant six mois.

ATTENTION – LISEZ LES RECOMMANDATIONS DE SÉCURITÉ CI-DESSOUS
Comme avec tout produit de toiture, suivez toujours les pratiques de santé et sécurité au travail (CSST) et utilisez et portez toujours l'équipement de protection individuelle lorsque vous travaillez sur les toitures.
Faites attention lorsque vous marchez ou vous tenez debout sur la membrane Titanium UDL30 dans des conditions humides et/ou poussiéreuses qui peuvent réduire la traction. Négliger d'utiliser les chaussures et l'équipement de sécurité appropriés peuvent causer des blessures sérieuses.

Titanium UDL30 Limited Warranty

InterWrap Corp (the “Seller”) warrants to the purchaser of these goods (the “Buyer”), the product Titanium UDL30 synthetic roofing underlayment (hereafter called “product”) it manufactures, if installed strictly pursuant to Seller’s application instructions, that it will retain its ability to shed water, except as noted below, for a period of forty (40) years from the sales invoice date (the “Warranty Period”). The above warranty does not apply if: 1. any part of the product is exposed to UV after roof cladding installation; and 2. the product has been installed and left uncovered without roof cladding for more than 180 days.

Buyer MUST give Seller written notice of any defects within 30 days from the date that the defect was discovered, along with field samples illustrating production codes, application details, and digital pictures. Seller reserves the right to reserve warranty claim judgment pending full field sample evaluation. Such notice shall be sent to Technical Services Manager, InterWrap Inc., 32923 Mission Way, Mission, BC, Canada, V2V-6E4. Seller shall, at its sole option and as Buyer’s sole remedy, repair or replace the product or refund the purchase price for that portion of the product that has been proven to be defective, within the written warranty conditions. Buyer shall pay all handling or transportation charges. Failure to timely give Seller notice of a defect, or unauthorized repairs or alterations, or misuse or misapplication of the product makes this warranty VOID.

This warranty applies only to products purchased between the Effective Date and the date the Seller, in its sole discretion, modifies the warranty.This warranty does not cover leaks or damage caused by any penetrations (including penetrations by fasteners), or by animals, vandalism, abusive conditions, inadequate or faulty structural design, structural defects, building alterations, natural forces such as tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, other acts of nature, or any other cause beyond Seller's control.The warranties set forth herein are Seller’s sole and exclusive warranties. Seller’s liability on any claim of any kind for any loss or damage arising out of, in connection with, or resulting from the manufacture, sale, or resale of the product shall in no case exceed the purchase price paid for the product, prorated from the date of purchase to the date of discovery of the defect.
